| What is the aim of Toddlehop? |
| Our aim
is to provide a safe and stimulating environment in
which children can develop a lasting appreciation and
understanding of the varied, exciting world of music… |
| |
 |
| Great fun for Toddlers |
|
| Who can come? |
| All children are welcome from 0 - 5; if they’re showing potential to
become the next Madonna / George Michael then they
should find the sessions sufficiently challenging and stimulating! |
| However, even if they just want to watch
and toddle along to the music, they will still be
excited by the sights and sounds of a Toddlehop
workshop… |
| We politely request that parents are
present in the room where the sessions are taking
place, especially if you have younger children, although
we will let you escape to grab a coffee! |
| |
| Do you
have to sign up for a specific number of sessions? |
| No, Toddlehop is a weekly drop-in activity with no
obligation to attend every session. |
| |
| What will happen
during the sessions? |
| ● |
There will be stories that are sung and
played live. |
| ● |
Nursery-rhyme sing-alongs will be
accompanied by the children themselves with various percussion instruments
(parents - bring your ear-plugs!). |
| ● |
Older children will learn to identify
different styles of music through well known classical, jazz and modern pieces which
will always contain an element of live performance. |
| ● |
They will also experiment with basic dance
steps and styles. The younger ones will simply enjoy the
stimulation of listening and toddling along! |
| ● |
Balloon modelling, tricks, jokes and puppet
shows will entertain both children and parents! |
|
| |
| Who will
run the sessions? |
 |
| Sam with his children |
|
| All sessions will be run by Sam
Wedgwood, a very experienced musician and music
teacher. He was previously a member of internationally
renowned jazz singer and pianist Jamie Cullum’s band; |
| Jamie describes Sam as “a true multi-talent. Not only a
gifted singer and instrumentalist (guitar, piano,
trumpet....you name it) but also a fantastic songwriter
with a uniquely soulful voice. I'm actually quite
jealous.” |
| Sam is the father of two pre-school
daughters, so is also experienced in performing to the
Toddlehop age-group! |
| He is fully CRB checked. |
| |
|
** Note: Loyalty Cards &
Class Numbers |
Loyalty cards
do not guarantee a place each week. Please
could you use email to book each session. Don't forget -
this system gives you more flexibility in when you want
to come thus saving you money! Most children's groups
insist on the system that would mean you book 10
sessions each term at a flat cost whether you show up or
not. |
| As numbers have been
steadily rising the sessions will be capped at 12
Toddlehoppers so I don't end up buried under a heap of
toddlers! |
